The Collective is excited to be heading to TheMHS, where members of our team will share their work, connect with others across the sector and explore the latest developments in lived and living experience practice.

Shay Eliot will present on “double expertise,” exploring how peer-led spaces can shift education away from traditional hierarchies and towards shared, community-driven knowledge.

Kelle Reid and Eila Lyon will discuss how The Collective’s partnership of five lived and living experience agencies supports cross-discipline workforce development and contributes to broader system transformation, while respecting the unique knowledge, identity and expertise of each workforce.

Kylie Brown will present her work on epistemic injustice, challenging the systemic silencing of advocacy and highlighting the importance of deep, relational listening. Through the idea of “Unlearning Trouble,” Kylie will explore how we can recognise and validate voices that have historically been dismissed, ignored or misunderstood.

The Collective is attending TheMHS not only to present, but also to listen, learn and discover what is happening across the lived and living experience space. We look forward to connecting with peers, hearing about emerging ideas and bringing back practical insights that can support lived and living experience workforces across Victoria.

If you are heading to TheMHS, come and say hello. We would love to connect.
