Purpose of this Discipline Framework

It describes our workforce and the core understandings that underpin our work. In doing so it aims to play a critical role in guiding, sustaining, and embedding our workforce, to better support the individuals and communities we work with.

The Framework aims to:

  • Define the FCLE discipline, including our values and principles, collective knowledge, ways of working and scope of practice
  • Strengthen the foundations of the FCLE workforce within Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing system, by providing a resource which members of our workforce can use in self- advocacy
  • Underpin the growth of the FCLE workforce into the future
  • Provide non- FCLE workers with clear and structured information about the workforce, to assist in understanding, engaging with, and supporting FCLE workers.
