About The Framework

Lived and Living Experience Workforces (LLEWs) are implemented in a way that acknowledges the fact that they are forever learning, growing and incorporating multiple lived and living experience perspectives that are ever evolving.

Therefore, the frameworks will require regular review with a group of diverse leaders in the field. Lived and Living Experience disciplines have a deep knowledge base, practice base and lived experience expertise that enables unique connections, and informs ways of knowing, being and doing.

The importance of a discipline framework:

A discipline framework sets down the values and principles informing our discipline, providing consistency for how and what the consumer workforce undertakes in its roles. In particular, this Framework provides direction and guidance for people who are new to the consumer workforce.

With our own discipline, we have a seat at the table alongside all other LLEW disciplines. A framework can also help to make ethical decisions, because it sets out the values and principles guiding the work. Because this Framework has been developed by consumer workers for consumer workers, we expect it will also improve experiences for consumers they work with. Finally, this Framework aims to provide ideas and information that can help consumer workers to put words to experiences they might not yet have found language to express.
